Kenner 1971 Talking Show Projector Slides - Checklist!

giveashow_talking1.jpg

Kenner introduced the Talking Show Projector in 1971, and so far, I haven't found any evidence that they produced any other Give-A-Show product in that year (with the likely exception of, say, reissues of previous release slides in four-packs).

With this set, the format of the slides changed slightly... the corners were beveled, and there were no more little pictures of the characters on either side of the slide frames. Also, the frames were completely colored in, with the text reversed out (although this would change in 1972).

As you can see, the Talking Show Projector incorporated a built-in record player, as well as 45rpm records with the soundtracks on them. Each 45 had 4 soundtracks, 2 on each side.

Here's the eight slides that I know of for the Talking Show Projector:

223-220 - Superman in "Merlin's Magic Marbles"
223-221 - Lassie in "To the Rescue"
223-222 - Josie & The Pussycats in "The Nemo's a No-No Affair"
223-223 - Scooby-Doo in "That's Snow Ghost"
223-224 - Tweety & Sylvester in "Tweet Bird"
223-225 - Bugs Bunny in "Buccaneer Bugs"
223-226 - Sabrina the Teenage Witch in "History Headache"
223-227 - Archie in "Opening Night for the Archies"

You'll also notice that the slide numbering has changed... the first three numbers identify the overall set, with the second three being the specific slide numbers. I have no idea why 220 was the first number!

These slides and records were also released in groups of 4, which is how I added them to my collection.
